Hey guys,
I purchased a nice baby pink blush from MAC recently since I have been on a hunt for a baby pink blush. I have been so obsessed with pink cherubim cheeks like the juicy couture models featured in magazines but I never really did have any cheek color that is even close to the colors on their cheeks. I tend to purchase more of the mauve, coral and red colored blushes, and I shy away from the cooler pinks. I guess I just never felt like pink make up looks looked good on me. Especially now that I am a full fledged adult. Pink just is not the business anymore.
I did decide to break my norm and try out a nice baby pink blush. So I visited a local MAC store and consulted with the MA's. They applied this on me with a heavy hand, mind you and at first it actually looked kinda cute. So I purchased it together with an eyeliner. As you guys probably know already, MAC blushes retail for $18.00. It's a lot of money for most teenagers out there.

This color is just absolutely adorable. I think it would look best on very fair skin tones. Let me just emphasize the fact that this blush is a sheertone blush before any of you fall in love with the color. Based on the label, you should already know just what to expect from this blush. As I said earlier, the MA definitely applied this on me with a heavy hand. She probably did 5 thick layers of this thing on me. I mean I decided to get it because I do not mind applying it on several times, but what I did not expect was the little time it actually lasted on my skin.
I wake up very early in the morning between 5:30 to 6:00am. It is very unlikely that my blush did not last due to my excessive sweating because a.) it is cold in the morning and b.) I spend my day in a well ventilated classroom.
After the first hour, my cheek color is non existent which leaves me looking like a corpse. I am pale in the sense that I do not have a lot of color on my face. I don't blush and my lips are not a natural rosy color. Unless I apply some sort of tint to my face, I pretty much look like I have been starving myself to death.
Just to let you know my hand is so much darker than my face due to my hands' excessive sun exposure. My hand is about 1-2 shades darker than my face.
This is how it looks when it has been blended on to the skin. It is a very subtle effect especially on tanned skin
This color has no problem showing on my face because my face is lighter than my hand but the fact remains that this blush inadequate in producing a more intense and long lasting effect. Should I keep it? No! This little thing is going back where it came from. I would rather fork out extra money to get myself NARS Desire blush or Bobbi Brown's Pale Pink Blush.
Sorry MAC, you failed.
Verdict:
Quality: 1/10
Packaging: who cares if your product sucked.
Price: ridiculous for a blush that is worse than the $0.99 wet and wild blushes.
P.S I recommend just buying drugstore blushes. This blush is not even worth $0.99
